Love Hate Relationship

Leo Tolstoy Was one of the renowned writers of the 20th Century. Novels written by him have made impacts so deep in the reader's hearts across the world that many think of him as a divine entity. But what is lesser known about this great author is that his own home crumbled at the end, which might even have ended his life through disappointment.

The branches of the tree that learn to bow down due to the enormous burden of snow, they can survive the winter. Those who don't learn to bow break down due to the weight and wither away. That I think what exactly happened to the marriage of Tolstoy and keeps on happening with countless couples worldwide. Mostly we can handle big problems, but actually, it's the little termites which creep on us make us act in a violent and weird way. Ever notice why we overreact in some situation. Mostly because we have not cleared the trifles out of our mind and they have gathered to become amount giving the impression of one giant pain. These little nags are mostly ignored and hence remain un-answered and as the time passes they accumulate.

Then comes a time they become a bigger problem of their own in our lives. A constant nagging of your colleague sitting across you might feel harmless and witty at first but as time passes the subconsciously starts to register it as an insult if we don't learn to block them out. Same is the case for our marriage. If we don't learn to ignore little skirmishes with our spouses in time they start to intrude the peace of our mind and a time comes when each one of the comment, event and little fight feels like a burden on the chest, an un-answered blow and that is where most of us reach our tipping point.

That's the time when we overreact and that's exactly what happened to Tolstoy when he himself called his home the "The Lunatic Asylum". At the centre of their argument, He and his wife Sophia Tolstoy had nothing more than what every couple has. The difference of opinion.
Learn to accept it, go with it and live with it.
