The Pursuit of Happiness

The less is more. We all live in an era where everyone is so engrossed to figure out how to be happy when most of us have already achieved what we wished for when we were kids. Yes, let's take a flashback. When you were a child, what were your dreams? what made you happy? Was it to look like a successful person in front of everyone like at your workplace or etc., win every argument with your friends and rivals, get membership of every exclusive club in your town? I don't think so. Though some of these desires might have surfaced at some point in our lives these notions were not the one which made us happy and dreamy.

Most of you including me wished for a house, not a mansion or a castle, we adored someone from our previous generation either from family or neighbourhood not tech entrepreneurs like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. Do you remember an uncle you had who stood out in your family and you thought man I wanted to be like him when I grow up? A guy or a woman from your street who looked unique? Have we ever asked ourselves why we are attracted to some individuals? I can bet most of them were not super-rich and we didn't even know about their bank balance when we admired them. They were happy individuals. They made people around them feel relaxed and worthy of attention. I never saw these people wining about what they want and how they are planning to get them. I never saw these persons giving free advice on how you anyone should be saving up their money to get to a social level.

They shared stories of their life, little things which we all could relate to. They were satisfied with the way they were. Now, looking at our current state of affairs, many of us have achieved what we longed for. We have subconsciously become the personalities which we dreamt of. Our dilemma is that no one is there from our childhood to remind us. We have our priorities so far up north that somewhere down the road we forgot to take a break, analyze ourselves from bird's eye view and see what we have become.

Let's take a break and introspect. Maybe we have already achieved what we wished for, maybe we are already happy without knowing just maybe.
